Last night some of the Greenhouse girls decided to have a little dance party in the kitchen (best place right?!?!?) and would like to share a little piece of it with you:
This is our demo video for the show "So you think you can dance?" Comment if YOU think we can dance!

Cookies anyone???
The greenhouse, for those of you that don't know is in a high tailgating traffic area. Each home game we see a constant stream of black and gold streak by our windows. So, last home game we decided we needed a way to get into the action. And like Jenny always says, when in doubt....bake some cookies. So, that is what we did.
We totaled 6 batched of cookies on the day. Set up a little table at the end of our drive way and shouted, "would you like a free cookie" to anyone who passed by. (Well, not really shouted, although, it was close once Jeshie joined us ;)
It was so great to see people's faces light up as they asked, "Are you for real, free?" Not everyone responded that way. A good number turned us down, which is fine, but who turns down a free cookie haha. Other common responses:
"Are they laced with something?" Jenny started to say yes, which didn't deter anyone haha
"I love you!" This was my favorite :)
We even got one passerby to give us a little dance performance in return for his cookies. Both on the way to and from his tailgate.
Now, are cookies were completely free to anyone, but some were just to generous they wanted to give back. We got live strong bracelets from one man, a dollar from another, and one kind women decided she wanted to show her appreciation by donating two tampons she had picked up at the gas station.
Oliver had to make an appearance too, and he was the reason we had half the business we did, I think
We had so much fun meeting people and baking cookies for 5 hours, we decided that we will be out there every home game, so if you feel like you want a free cookie or two come on over to the greenhouse, we'll have plenty. They are completely free, but gifts or donations of ALL kinds will be accepted! Our favorite is a big fat smile. :) GO Hawks!

Iowa City Scavenger Hunt
We had one goal in mind that rainy August day...to finish a scavenger hunt. You wouldn't think that a scavenger hunt at our age would be so difficult. It was. Especially when Jeff Thune is the author of the scavenger hunt. It was rainy, cold, and ucky outside. There were 20 items on the list that we were supposed to take pictures with. For example, a picture with the Iowa City mayor, Matt Hayek. Seriously? Yes. I bet we could have taken a picture with anyone and called it the mayor. I was excited for this scavenger hunt and felt that we would have great competition. We were the first ones out the door and off the parking lot. Don't tell anyone this but I even drove 65 mph on a country road. Here are the tasks we completed and the pictures that go along with them:
Hotel Vetro-the gathering place for Veritas church.-10 pts
Starbucks-barista must be in the shot.-5 pts.
A group picture with someone in green or blue medical scrubs.
The original Pancheros-and yes-we'll need to see the date.-5 pts.
After all of this strenuous day's work, soaking wet and cold, we crossed the finish line to be the only ones to show up on time with the scavenger hunt finished. To our dismay we were blown to pieces that the oldest people at the retreat were the only ones to go around and take pictures. Crazy. Kids these days. I won't mention the group's names but I will say that they drew instead of walking around in the rain and doing actual work. Duh....we should have been the first to think of that. We are not too old, we are just too dumb. Everyone came back dry and we looked like wet rats. Let's just say it was a long day. Also, we got Whitey's coupons. I didn't see you picture draw-ers at Whitey's eating awesomely delicious peanut butter shakes. But I'm not bitter. I can't say anything for my roommates though. Just kidding.
Get a photo with a police officer in uniform-5 pts.
-An extra 10 pts for 2 team members inside a police cruiser.
We obviously did not find a police officer. We were in this building for atleast 20 minutes and still no police officer.
Hotel Vetro-the gathering place for Veritas church.-10 pts
This is us worshipping.
The Old Capitol-entire group needs to be on the front steps-5 pts.
Don't we look legit?
Starbucks-barista must be in the shot.-5 pts.
We didn't want to sit on the wet chairs so we squatted. Also, the burista said "no" to a picture because the boss was there.
A group picture with someone in green or blue medical scrubs.
Jess and I are nursing Jenny back to good health. She was feeling a little faint from the scavenger hunt...also notice the pepto bismol.
The Blue Moose Tap House-Salt Company represent!!!-5 pts.-An extra 3 pts for a team pyramid in front of the Blue Moose.
Jess and I were cheerleaders back in the day. Obviously Jenny does not know the correct pose.
The original Pancheros-and yes-we'll need to see the date.-5 pts.
We are pointing to the date, not raising the roof.

P.S. We are bringing it next year! Also, bring it yourself. We want competition because without it we can't show off our skills to their best ability.

WORK IT!!!
It is time for my contribution to the roommate blog. I thought I would do so by sharing with you one of the greenhouse values = work it!! ( I just made this up so hopefully the girls can appreciate). It can work on many levels, but mainly it is manifested in periodic work outs. It all started long before my time here when the girls decided to by matching pink yoga mats, which they have used multiple times. Jenny had purchased the infamous P90X. Which I still would like to know the meaning of if anyone knows what it stands for. So, often the girls pop in the video and work out. Jess is also a master of Pilates and workout motivation, pulling others in when the desire is not so hot. Example A....
Notice, I use "they" because I seldom join in the workout. And when I say seldom, I mean never. Luckily, then, I get to document; which of course provides some laughs for later. So, while working out is a value help by this house it is not a personal value of mine. But, I figure, when I am old and lumpy and sick because I chose not to exercise I will know two great in shape nurses that can take care of me :)
WORK IT LADIES WORK IT!!!
Stretch it out..
Another greenhouse value is Eating, especially sweet sugary things. We all have our little habits and Deanna is the best at discerning them. Whether it's late night bowl of cereal or a two hour hunger craving, I have noticed one of the first things we all do as soon as we get home from anywhere is hit up the kitchen for something to eat. haha (I'm exaggerating a bit)
So, I guess it all works out :))

Liz's birthday treat
Gotta lend a hand every now and then
Awesome fried rice
Homemade bread-heck ya!
Thanks for everything!
In the Green House today all alone. This big house is not meant for one person. I do like my quiet time. But I love having wonderful girls fill this house with joy! I just want to say thank you to all of you guys this past weekend for encouraging me when I had to work my first twelve hour shifts at the hospital.
Jess-Thank you for packing me a huge lunch (PB&J was yummy) and waking me up at 6 am to make me coffee. I found a sweet little note from you written on the back of a receipt in the bathroom. Seriously you are so wonderful. I wanted to cry.
Liz-Thank you for caring for Oliver. I appreciate it and I know he does. Last night he started whining at your door. Made me a little sad that he might want to sleep with you instead of me but then I realized that it didn't matter. We are a family. He can have more than one mom.
To Jenny (my favorite roommate haha!)-I was happy to see a text from you that said "I hope you have a GREAT day at work today!" By the way, I am sorry that I woke you up that morning when I came in to place Oliver in bed with Jess before leaving for work. I was also happy to see that you liked my new hair color enough to want to make it your hair color...looks great by the way!
Schmecks-I love how you always smile big, especially when we wake up at 7 am to go to work. I didn't get to see you much this past weekend. But I always look forward to your big smile. Also, I like your smise (your smile with your eyes)...I don't know anyone who can pull it off better than you. Your eyes even have a little sparkle to them. :)
Thanks again and I love y'all!

To Deanna:
This morning four of us roommates went to church at Veritas and before the service even started, we realized that something was missing... That something was.... actually a person:

DEANNA!
So, while you are working your twelve hour shift saving lives upon lives Deanna, you are missed!

In other roommate new, JESS HANSON PASSED HER NURSING BOARDS AND IS NOW AN OFFICIAL REGISTERED NURSE! (or AKA RN = Real Nurse :)) Now we can stop tripping over her ten pound nursing books... :) Burn books, baby burn! JK.... :/

Things I Love About My Roommates
Hey, Liz here. I was thinking of how I might contribute to the random ramblings of the Green House Pandemonium and decided on a list of things I love about each of my roommates. I tried to keep it short...
Jess
Anyway, until next time...
Jess
- She is so encouraging and is really good at listening to me verbally process things.
- Lots of energy that seems to rub off on me. And I like that. :)
- Wonderful listener.
- She always has the most timely encouragement.
- Hilarious. Love this girl. She keeps us all laughing (with her, not at her).
- I love that Deanna notices random things, like favorite candy bars...and my weird eating habits.
- Jenny has such integrity in everything that she does. Not that my other roommates don't, but if I had to come up with a series of words to describe Jenny's character, integrity would definitely be one of those words.
- Totally random comments that just make me smile so much. :)
Anyway, until next time...

We had plans for lots and lots of stories about what has happened in our house since we moved in.... but the pictures took a lot of time and its now 9:17 (we are VERY old and have to go to bed early because we are now in the REAL WORLD) So... until next time (which hopefully there is a next time...) This wasn't the first and last post, so don't worry. Keep in touch all y'all!
